Sex in the Sea (2022)
Wool, Clay, Organza, TPU
Craft Installation, 270mm * 420mm each (Set of 3)
The ocean is not only the planet's largest, most complicated environment, but it is also where sex first appeared.
Based on the popular science book Sex In The Sea (Marah J. Hardt, 2017), this project uses the sexual behaviour of three representative marine species to represent the three stages of mating abstractly. It makes a visual impact on the audience by combining rich colours and various textures, turning a science text into an installation made of three-dimensional fabrics that piques viewers' curiosity about the functioning of the organisms and ecosystems beneath the surface of the ocean.
